The DormaCryo project
The project will develop knowledge and protocols for the cryopreservation of dormant apple and pear buds. This method will be safer and cheaper than current practices. Furthermore, the method is faster, which is of great importance to the professional industry. As part of the project, the GeneEver concept will be integrated into Sagaplant's cryopreservation system. The GeneEver concept involves the joint storage of plant material and data in liquid nitrogen, including a cloud-based database solution. This is an ongoing project from now and 5 years ahead.
