The software solution
GeneBase is an easy-to-use software solution available through the cloud. You can easily access GeneBase in your normal browser. Data is easily ingested by uploading files and folders or by drag-and-drop as you are used to in your normal PC/Mac applications.
GeneBase is an ideal Laboratory Inventory Management System (LIMS) for small and medium sized gene banks and laboratories.
Easy to use
In GeneBase data can be organised and placed e.g. in specific CryoBoxes that is located in specific cryo-tanks. You can upload text files, PDF’s or various forms of images, spread sheets and more. For data that shall NOT co-stored with the biological material, i.e. that is stored in piqlFilm in our data vault, - you can upload any kind of files, even videos and audio recording, large databases and more. No limitations.
Store online or offline
Data can be stored on piqlFilm for co-storage in the CryoBox or DataStrip, they can be stored on piqlFilm (kept in a secure vault) or they can be stored online in the cloud for instant or delayed access.
The application is hosted, and all online data are stored in a secure Norwegian datacentre running on renewable energy from Norwegian hydroelectric power.
